LxHelp does not allow the Admin to update the appearance of all clients [message #49478]

Should the Admin be able to update all customers' appearance even if one of them has the default theme?[ 6 votes ]

The bug is that if you have a customer with the default theme set in his Appearance tab (not the feather) and you go to another customer's Appearance tab and there set the feather theme and enable the Simple Skin, then you will get this message:

Alert:   you_are_trying_to_access_an_unsettable_variable [specialplay_b-simple_skin]

As LxHelp says this is a security setting that does not allow any changes when a form does not have the Simple Skin property (which is the case for the customer with the default theme, he does not have this property). But this prohibits us as Admins to update the appearance of all our customers and LxHelp is not willing to fix this.

Since LxHelp is not willing to fix this, I'm opening a poll for the community to express their will about whether this bug should be fixed or not.

You can fix this trivially by using scripting. Which is the proper way to do multi-update on the admin side.

You can just run:

 
 /script/skin-set-all-client feather

first. Then all the clients' skin will be changed to feather. After that, you can run multi-update and enable simple skin.
