Whenever I setup a new hosting network, I always setup a secondary private network (and sometimes even a tertiary network). The private network is used for administrative access, dns resolution, backups, and other administrative traffic. When a tertiary (third) network is added, it is used for NFS.

I'd like to see support for at least a private network interface on each machine so that the control panel server can communicate with its slaves over the private network. The advantage here is that even if the public interface becomes saturated (for whatever reason) the control panel (and administrators) can still reach the system over the private network.

This setup has always worked well for the past 15+ years I've been doing this type of thing.
