A while ago I read a post where someone was asking for an integrated HyperVM panel in WHMCS. So I decided to have a go at it and here is the end result.

I am hoping to release this in a few days but first I'm looking for is some constructive criticism and general community input.

Very nice. I am currently working on a custom Kloxo frontend.

I thought I was the only one looking at this type of thing, but I must say you have finished a very difficult task.

Hoping that security is no longer an issue, where are you at with this? With a custom front-end, we could possibly firewall access to all of Kloxo/HyperVM (with josh's module) to only our client area IP.

Unfortunately, I am not anywhere near done with it. I am not even sure I will be able to go forward with it because I don't know how long LxLabs can survive under their dead weight.

But I will most likely be working on this, though there is no definitive timeline or deadline. The one great thing is that it would eliminate most of the vulnerabilities due to extreme checking of data before sending anything to Kloxo.

That's what I'm worried about. Hopefully they just release the underlying source code and do the right thing. The lack of response has be deafening here, and I can no longer put any faith in LxLabs.

However, if a firewalled front-end to Kloxo/HyperVM can be built (heck, I'd certainly pay licensing fees for it), then it's still viable in its currently (sad) state.

In the past week many security flaws have been pointed out within HyperVM, and now with the death of K T Ligesh the creator of HyperVM, may he rest in peace. This being said many of us have built our businesses from the ground up and are relying on HyperVM for ease of operation. While yes we can move our entire operation over to another VPS software solution this will be time consuming and possibly very costly. With the Virtual HyperVM Panel you can lockdown your HyperVM installation but still allow your clients to be able to freely control there VPS

What I'm looking for with this post is, is there enough of a demand for me to release and maintain the panel. If there is enough demand I will add more features from HyperVM to ease the transition as well as optimize the code as much as possible.

This is what I am referring to (concerning a front-end with Kloxo to go along with this).

A front-end that can allow us to lockdown hypervm, but still allow customers to freely use the features without having to force us to manually do everything.

I for one would love it, and I am sure many others are as well.

Also, to Arthur or anyone else.. a similar front-end for Kloxo would be the best thing as well. I'd easily pay 50-100$ as a license to cover the costs of your development (kloxo is infinitely harder to manage than hypervm, so I'm going based off of josh' price for his HyperVM module).

It does not appear we have a ticking timebomb with the licensing servers with the fix you guys have found.

c/p from the WHMCS forums :

I'm also on the LXLabs forum and posted in one of your threads. If you can give an option in your module to change the port that it communicates with HyperVM on (so we can lock it down and have clients only do things from your module), I would appreciate that a lot.

there is a config file which allows you to only use an auxiliary id and you are able to configure http/https and the port it will connect on. I am hoping to release this sometime tomorrow.

I think HyperVM will go on one way or another. I also think that now would be a good time to release such a panel, as we can secure our servers to work from WHMCS etc only as such, disable the hypervm control panel and firewall the slaves etc.

Please pm me if you do release this panel, i was going to get a small one done / written, but it is not worth it if you have one already in very much progress.

What imprint do I need to have?

I did my website quickly, but there is a contact form on my main site. But I will add a contact form to the members site.

Yes the code is safe all commands that are sent to the server are sanitized. Also any and all security holes found within my code will be patched asap.

Best openvz panel is HyperVM
think again to change VPS CP

As the VPScp uses the HyperVM API I renamed it when it was released to Virtual HyperVM Control Panel (vHVMcp). All it is a control panel that integrates into WHMCS so your clients can control from their.

When HyperVM is opensourced by a License, maybe you need to change the name of your panel.
iig not using HyperVM in it...

I am not saying it is allowed or not allowed, but it could be something to think about. I dont know such issues. Better to not use HyperVM in your panel name is my _personal_ suggestion.
