I have found a bug with HyperVM.

It seems if you put in none standard characters in your password then it gives a python error.

For example the password Q¬@~d4/w43-+* wont work. Once the password was changed to this then the client lost the vps on the next reboot.

After changing the xen config file manually then rebooting this fixed the problem.

So just for reference it did not like the ¬ character.

Regards

Jane

Just dont use exotic chars. A lot software have problems with that. Even unix/linux accounts.

Just use the ASCII table and avoid even command chars like | (pipe), escape chars like \.

Not all software uses errortrapping on weird chars (yes its bad tho).

But when time is there, it can be fixed.

Also, for example a lot more chars are allowed to create a filename on linux.
So when you want ftp or copy with other tools that file to windows, it will be denied by windows.

We dont use exotic characters, but one of our clients changed their password to this.

I was just informing you, I knew the solution.
