I just noticed that after we upgraded to the latest openvz kernel and vzctl, HyperVM can no longer create the VM's. Everytime we try we get this error:

VM creation has failed. Reason: File /etc/vz/conf/ve-vps.basic.conf-sample not found No such file or directory Fix the value of CONFIGFILE in /etc/vz/vz.conf Creation of container private area failed

Anyone know how to fix this? BTW, in /etc/vz/conf there is a file name called ve-basic.conf-sample. Not sure what it means to "Fix the value of CONFIGFILE...".

Anyone have a solution for this?

Can you try again with fresh install in your 'testing' server. I think we need to know this is issue for 'general' or 'special' only.

BTW, what's latest version of openvz that you use?.

Actually I figured it out soon after posting this. In the vz.conf file people need to change the "CONFIGFILE=vps.basic" to "CONFIGFILE=basic". I'm not sure what has changed with the new openvz updates to require this, but it was the only way to get it to work again.

In fact the change is reflected in /etc/vz/vz.conf.rpmnew. When openvz is upgraded, the file vz.conf is never overwritten to protect customised configurations. It is therefore useful to do a comparison after the upgrade, to see what needs to be changed.
