Failed Master, How do I restore VPSes? [message #92760] Sun, 18 December 2011 05:02 Go to next message

Hello,

My master server failed yesterday, and I have since created a new master. All slaves are ok. Is it possible to manually restore each VPS to the new master server?

Is there a directory in each VPS or slave server that I can add to the new master that will bring the slaves back online?

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated

To elaborate-

My master was completely wiped. However, the slave servers and all VPSes are still intact. Are there certain directories in each slave node and/or VPS that I can copy to the new master that will bring the VPSes back online?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I hope you have backup file from 'Config Self Backup'.

If yes, just restore and then your slave config back to normal. If not, you must setting again one-by-one for every client and domains for slave(s).

Musta, thank you for the reply.

See, Im told that the master was backing up. However, the old Master no longer exists. The RAID array was completely defunct. The new master doesnt have any of the old Masters setting, and browsing Restore Backups is empty.

Could you please tell me what the typical default path is for a Master server backup? And, could you also kindly provide steps on restoring each VM one-by-one if that is indeed what I will need to do?

Thank you very much!

Musta,

I have located the following file on an FTP backup server:

hypervm-scheduled-2.0-ibm3u03vm1.vm-2011-Oct-23-1319373242

This is a backup of the old Master server. Do I extract that into the root directory of the new Master server? Copying over all files?

Please advise.

I think it's vps image backup. So, this is related to HyperVM restore process; not for Kloxo.

Try search with something like keywords 'hypervm restore'. I can not more explain at this moments because don't have access to hypervm as admin level.

I hope other moderators (shazar?) or members can help you.
