althought HyperVM integrates quite everything you should want to know about resource usage, there is a command line tool that will analyze memory consumption

it can be installed outside hypervm or to verify its reports
or maybe it's already there and i even noticed it.

Check if you have it. I don't think it is part of vzctl.
