Hello, is it possible to update main applications in InstallApp to the latest versions? We need the latest Joomla, ZenCart, Drupal at least!

It is very bad when there is no Joomla 1.5 which is out for a year maybe more... Sad We use LxAdmin in a hosting company for all our clients, but every day we are under attacks from our clients... why apps there are so old, please update it and so on... Sad Thank you for help!

Or can we do the install scripts or add apps ourselfs?

thanks.

I dont think is would be step forward to reduce the number of apps to only 10 Sad Is there a possibility to implement something like http://www.apsstandard.com or give us the possibility to update the list of apps and versions ourselfs?

Or give all lxadmin users possibility to make packages/installation of new version of apps and put them somewhere for other users to download and use on their servers...

BTW: When we were choosing hosting panel for our company, the possibility to install applications using administration was very very important and we thought lxlabs will improve this part of lxadmin soon, but i am afraid it is not moving so much forward to be better Sad

I am currently talking with Installatron people and trying to get it integrated into Lxadmin.

Yes, this is also a very valid idea. Adding apps to InstallApp is around extremely simple compared to doing the same for APS. And I will see if I provide docs on how to update apps for InstallApp.

InstallApp has had some issues, and I will definitely solve it by this week.

a) Either I will properly integrate APSstandard.

b) Or have full Itron Integration.

Either of the two we will have by this Friday. Indeed for the past few days, I have been very seriously exploring ways to fix the problems with InstallApp.

thanks.

Itron won't work with Lxadmin enterprise. You need to have proper licenses.

thanks.

so are you saying we need an installatron license or one from lxadmin? since it seems to check for their license?

Hi,

I am a bit confused about this too.

Will the installaps section completely be removed or what is going to happen with this.

Do i need to buy a installatron license for each slave?
In that case it would be too expensive.

Kind regards,

Steven

must of the Cpanel licenses been offered at decent prices already have Fantastico which their auto installer is constantly been updated. If we going to have to pay for this I think it will be better for us to just offer cpanel instead of giving the option of LXadmin or Cpanel. this is a huge secutiry issue if clients install this old applications (mainly people getting their first web)

Hi digitalz,

Thanks for your reply.

Lets wait for the answer of Lxhelp, however, i am afraid that it will be a license for each slave and in that way too expensive.

The too old applications are a security risk i agree. Maby there is a way to add/update your own apps that you want to install.
That would be more helpfull than being forced to buy licences.

Regards,

Steven

True must wait for an answer Cool Cool.

I wouldn't mind updating them myself but honestly the amount of application the appinstall has it would take awhile. If you take a look at the size of the folder is about 1-2gigs of pre-install apps.

Installatron Now More Affordable Than Ever
12 January 2009
We have unveiled a new pricing model that is aimed to make Installatron more affordable for everyone.

Under the new model, we no longer require bulk purchases to receive a discount; instead, discounts are now based on the total number of active licenses owned at the time of purchase and renewal. That is, the more active licenses you own the cheaper the next one is to purchase, and the renewal fee for all your licenses is based on the number of active licenses that you own at the time of renewal. To view license purchase and renewal cost at specific numbers of active licenses, see the table on our pricing page.

As part of the new model, we have also introduced monthly VPS licenses starting at $2.50 per month. All of our VPS Licenses will work on Virtual Private Servers ("VPS") that also have fewer than 100 hosted domains or less than 1100MB dedicated memory. Servers that do not have VPS software, or that have both more than 100 hosted domains and more than 1100MB dedicated memory, require a Dedicated-Server license. All major virtualization software is supported, including Virtuozzo, OpenVZ, VMware, Xen, and others.

The new pricing model, including the new monthly VPS licenses, is immediately effective for new purchases. Existing licenses will continue on the model they were purchased, and may be converted to the new model by opening a ticket. Clients with old custom contracts may choose to continue to purchase those licenses. We have been planning these changes for some time and no further price changes are expected in the foreseeable future.

Installatron is a completely separate module. You will need to license it from their website.

thanks.

We will still maintain installapp. Itron won't work on Lxadmin enterprise, since it is purely a single server application.

Cpanel will need you to license fantastico separately. Even plesk basic doesn't have an auto-installer. Lxadmin is the only one that has installapp built-in. We will maintain installApp properly, but for the short term, you should use Itron.

Hi,

I am willing to help you to keep the installapps up to date or solve bugs.

Beside this, some customers lost files because they where able to install an application in a directory that is not empty.
I haven't tried this myself but it would be a good idea that you can only install an app if the dir is empty or must be creaed.

Regards,

Steven
